A world record was set as a overclocker took the AMD A10-6800K to a impressive 8203.34 MHz. Overclocker “The Stilt” used liquid nitrogen to achieve the record breaking speed. Idle temperatures sat at -180°C and -186°C with an ambient temperature of 25°C. The hardware used is listed below.
* A10-6800K AMD APU Processor
* Asus F2A85-V Pro Motherboard
* 8 GB of Radeon PE 1866 memory clocked at 1041 MHz with timings of 10-11-10-27

Now that's what you call over clocking, Chi-Kui Lam done a 7 Ghz CPU Overclocking World Record, overclocking his Haswell Core i7 4770K upto 7193.8 Mhz.
You can read about it
here
timster i checked out the software used thanks
I think this record has been broken already by about 200-300mhz.

The guy I posted about holds a number of overclocking records.

The last time The Reg heard such a claim was in 2011, when a bunch of AMD-sponsored speed freaks rocketed a prerelease FX Series chip up to 8.429GHz.
