 Azn everyone,
my question is you open the computer taking all precautions with the electrostatic wrist strap and the like. You want to know not only what type of ram but also what value of ram to install, for example you have some ram  knocking around and it has some markings like PC 100 or whatever how can you know what can be installed ? Your PC is working with a operating system is there a way using  diagnostic software to easily find out.

And what if your PC has not been up and working how can you see from looking at the motherboard what ram can be installed and can you mix different values not just size 256  but the other piece of info on the ram stick like I mentioned above PC 100 ( Just a example )

Hope I make myself understood thank you take care

tmy

 Bye
