Hey, I just had a problem with a laptop with a Hard Drive Lock.  While researching CMOS resets, CMOS battery location, etc., I was wishing for something similar.   Turned out the CMOS on this laptop was SOLDERED to mobo, yuck!  Brian's YouTube video on resetting CMOS was great, by the way, definitely worth checking out.   Oh, getting back to my problem, I just installed a new hard drive to get around the Hard Drive Lock problem.   Evidently the lock was on the DRIVE, not in the BIOS.
