HIYA guys wondering if anyone can help me out . Im trying to replace the optical drive on a sony vaio laptop (VGN-FJ1Z/W) series as im sure its dead.. Is there any info on how to replace the disc drive and connect it back in place and would it have to be exactly the same disc drive or is there another type of drive i could put back in the lappy..  any info would be appreciated thank you......*Cool

I think it will be something like this on the back of the laptop 1 or 2 screws.

Remove two screws securing the DVD drive. Carefully pull the DVD drive from the laptop and remove it.
