Hi,

I'm trying to find out how to save data that has been erased from a HD.

I ran the program (File Recovery) and most of the files & folders are there (under 'Root'). If I click on 'LOST' there are a bunch of files with names I don't recognize. So, how do I save the files that are listed on the 'ROOT' directory? If I click on a file, right click, and select 'SAVE', I get a real quick glimpse of a progress bar, which I believe is supposed to show that the file
is being saved, but when I go to the target folder, its still empty. Please Advise!

Its a Sony Vaio Laptop, I recently re-installed the OS (XP) and even though I instructed it to only use drive C: it erased D: as well. I am trying to save the files on drive D: to a Folder on drive C:

Thanks for your help!
