Hi gang, I have a new build computer just a standard machine, Today I purchased a standard compac disc drive and pluged in 1 cable to the cable in my comuter next to the hard drive.

My computer is not recognising this new drive? Where does the small plug with wires plug into? it cannot fit anywhere on the disc drive, the only plug that plugs in the disc drive is the long one. Do I have
to open BIOS? Any help?

Make sure the ribion cable is connected to the motherboard and hard drive and make sure you have the power cable pluged in p4 is the master and P3 is the slave one of them plugs in on the hard drive next to the ribion connection it all needs to be connected to see the drive once done it should see the drive if it dont you need the change the bios settings so it dose

Is it a IDE drive or Sata?

Hi its a standard cd rom drive to put discs in and play

Hello, it is a standard cd rom drive I want to Install, the hard drive is a SATA 20gb Drive. How do I go to BIOS When I restart and keep pressing delete it dosent go into bios
