Thanks bradley for replying back...im using windows xp pro...and no my neighbours cant find the recovery disk...thats why im having a hard time...when i first used the killdisk i thought i was just deleting the partition and reformatting it but unfortunately i formatted everything and it deleted the partition ...so i was getting the error message...no operating system found...and then i realized that there was no partition...so i used super f-disk to make a partition...i usually format by using a floppy disk with ME on it but realized that their system had no floppy drive in it.. i cant get into safe mode...once i used the super f-disk i was able to get the hard drive partitioned...i think anyways...then i found a copy of ME and burnt the ISO on a cd...once i did that it seemed to work...up until it says windows is installing files please wait...then it goes to..MSCD001 driver missing...i dont know much about regit comand or misconfig...and yea i wiped out the operating system...i thought maybe the hard drive was bad...but i was able to use the ME cd to at least get the option to boot with cd or boot without cd or minimal boot.....so im not sure if the ME that i used is missing the driver i need or not...i have also tried to change drives...by using c: d: etc..and keeps saying bad command...so im stuck at this point....any help would be greatly apprecaited...thanks again bradley...if you need any more info...just let me know...thanks....cheryl Smiley

Hi Cheryl
Thanks for getting back to me Now I understand where you are and the problem you are having with the floppy drive you are installing ME inplace of xp\ becuase xp was wiped and they require folppy disks to install the operating system on to it well here are some options

1. you can bye a floppy disk drive external for 39.99 at maplin and pc world and you can then use the floppy disks vira that it they will read it fine already done one like that on a notebook where no cd rom was ever avaible

2. you can remove is hard drive put it in another computer and do the installation on the second computer

other than that it has gone past repair as you said there is no operating system on the computer so unfortunialty they are your two options at this point becuase you need a new operating system on the computer

the iso that was made has not all the information it needs to install the drivers

do you have the option to install drivers later or is it istsisting on installing the drivers now

do you have the drivers that are requierd to run ME is so find the driver it is talking about and put that on the cd with the iso and burn it and then rerun the cd and it should then see the driver to install let us know how you get on and if you need any more help

Kind Regards

Bradley

thge best way if you are reinstalling the operating system is to start from sctratch which is what you are needing to do download this iso file http://www.snapfiles.com/get/dban.html
and burn to cd using an iso image once completed the image then reboot the computer the the cd and and select a low level format this will then put the computer back to a blank hard drive with nothing then insert your ME disk and floppy disks and then reinstall the operating system that is the best way any help just give me a shout kind regards Bradley
