 Azn dogster,
depends what your going to be doing with your router, follow the link and read the advice there with a cup of tea or coffee coke or beer wine ( not too many) and decide what your going to want your router to do. The advice is fairly easy to follow but if after reading the article you still seem unsure please describe what your wanting to achieve with your router and come back to the forum and lets see if we can get you going.

Take care and good luck.

Here's the link: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/homenetworking/ht/routerconfigure.htm

hello and thanks for the link the thing i would like to know is lets say you have sky broadband or 02broadband in your house and your router goes off and you want to replace it with a new one.
i have been told that you cannot just go and buy any router and just plug it in and it will work. i have heard people talking about codes and other things.
