Hi guys

I was wondering if anybody out there has ever used a network monitoring application, one that can simply focus on who is connected to my home wireless network and the current realtime bandwidth that they are using.  I simply want to know which of the users on my network is hogging all the bandwidth.  There is an option within my router that gives info regarding users currently connected, but sadly it does not give the actual bandwidth being used by them.

I am well aware of many applications that say they monitor all connections, but sadly they merely monitor all connections traveling through my computer and not the other users currently connected to the router.  I would also prefer not to have to install the application on each and every computer on my network.  Just one simple application, running from my computer, monitoring all users on the wireless network will suffice.

Many thanks.

Hi,

Here are a couple more to look at. I believe that they will give you what you are looking for but they are probably a bit much for what you want. And the downside is that they cost dosh. Anyway, have a look see.

Thanks for the very fast response.

I really appreciate your hard work and the time invested in trying to help me.

I have looked at each and every link that you posted but sadly found nothing that fully ticks all boxes.

Here are my findings:

http://www.spytech-web.com/help/netvizorfaq.shtml
http://www.track4win.com/Network_Monitor.asp
Needs to be installed on all computers

http://www.addgadget.com/
http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifitools.php
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/nsl.htm
http://www.bandwidthmonitorpro.com/
http://www.shaplus.com/bandwidth-meter/
Will only monitor active user of the pc it’s installed on

http://dd-wrt.com/site/index
Nothing suitable

http://www.tamos.com/products/commwifi/
Looked promising but unfortunately does not support my router

http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato/
The most promising of them all, but I’m not yet willing to risk voiding my warranty by installing 3rd party firmware.  Perhaps I will try this at a later date.

Once again, thanks for trying to help me out
Cheers
