Hello, I need some advice buying a new router. I have 2 desktop PC's (each with their own printer), one is mine which I use for everyday web surfing, YouTube, etc. ( no gaming by the way) the other is for my children's school work, which that is the only purpose it will have. I need a router so both PCs can be online at the same time so I can get my stuff done and they can get their's done as well. the other pc has xp home. This will be a wired network because i don't have any wireless cards. I'm looking to spend about 50 British pounds ( $80.00 US dollars if i converted it right) or less! Any ideas would be appreciated!  Thanks!

Depending on the area that you are between the router and your other computer is something to think about. Any netgeat N rated series router should work for what you want.. If your connecting other devices with it such as xbox, or wireless printers, i would look into a dual band router.

Here is one you may like: http://www.staples.com/Netgear-WNR3500L-RangeMax-Wireless-N-Gigabit-Router-with-USB/product_853556?cmArea=SEARCH

or a cheaper one: http://www.staples.com/Netgear-WNR2000-Wireless-N-Router/product_746737?cmArea=SEARCH

Thanks, i looked over those briefly and they look like something i can use. i'll have to look in detail later. BTW, i do have a 360 that would be nice to hook up as well. But remember it will all be wired. Thanks for the advice Smiley

the 3500 i think would still be a good one for you as it has the "gigabit" ports so you can connect one of the ports through your xbox...
