10 ways to stop Windows 7/8/8.1/10 spying on you - Britec - 11-06-2015 10 Ways To Stop Windows Spying On You Have you been waiting to install Windows 10? Well hold your horses, it’s not all good news. Microsoft have made some privacy changes that you may not agree with. First off, the new operating system has been design to collect your personal data and track your usage, then send all this information back to Microsoft by default. Now you may be saying to yourself, that’s no big deal and if you feel that way then welcome to Windows 10. Millions have upgraded to Windows 10 and are very happy. It’s the tech community who know more about these privacy settings and are shocked at what’s being collected and shared. It’s not as simple as opting out of it either, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it all disabled. There is a number of programs that can do this for you. I have added them to my forum for you guys. Download what flavor you want • Destroy Windows 10 Spying • Disable Win Tracking • DoNotSpy 10 (Warning: The program ships with Open Candy adware) • Windows 10 Privacy and S**t • Windows 10 Privacy Fixer • W10 Privacy • O&O Shut Up 10 • Spybot Anti-Beacon • Ashampoo AntiSpy • Windows Privacy Tweaker Hope helps you guys out. RE: 10 ways to stop Windows 7/8/8.1/10 spying on you - Peter_Dk - 05-20-2016 Spybot Anti-Beacon i can say works great with out any maleware/spyware problemes you just have to run it when windows update to check up if they blocks still in place RE: 10 ways to stop Windows 7/8/8.1/10 spying on you - Humble Servant - 06-11-2016 Hello fellow geeks, I was curious about the windows updates with these programs and the list of domains. By running these program/ editing host files, does it block windows updates? If so, if I were to stop Anti-Beacon and/or restore the Host file to default and update the computer for critical updates, and then start the program again and edit the host files does it open me up for potential data collection even for a brief period of time? The reason I ask is because there are critical updates that are necessary to have. RE: 10 ways to stop Windows 7/8/8.1/10 spying on you - Compton - 06-11-2016 even if you mange to stop windows 10 from spying when you install updates Microsoft will set everything back to default RE: 10 ways to stop Windows 7/8/8.1/10 spying on you - Humble Servant - 06-16-2016 (06-11-2016, 10:40 PM)Compton Wrote: even if you mange to stop windows 10 from spying when you install updates Microsoft will set everything back to default But by enabling the program with the exported settings you saved it would just be set to what you had before right? Do these programs block windows updates to begin with? RE: 10 ways to stop Windows 7/8/8.1/10 spying on you - Compton - 06-16-2016 I am bit lost on the fist question but I am guessing what you are saying if you set a preset in a program if you install updates all you would have to do is to just go back to that preset setting? some of them do block updates RE: 10 ways to stop Windows 7/8/8.1/10 spying on you - Humble Servant - 06-23-2016 Yes, that is what I want to do. I started to use W10 Privacy which is more comprehensive. I like this program very much. I will try this method for the windows update. Thanks again... God Bless... |
