Server or Home Computer, let me guess...home computer.
I know you like to tweak and you probably stumbled on sites like this Speed up browsing with DNS catch
These tweaks will always be debatable for home computers, I used to tweak the crap out of my machine, but now I don't see much point...my machine is super fast as it is. But each to there own. I don't think your see much change in home computer running Windows 10.

Here is some more information on DNS
DNS Registry Entries

If you're using a static ip address and you have it set to the wireless adapter but if i want to use the Ethernet port how does that work? Because when i disconnect the wifi adapter to use the Ethernet port it says unidentified network and it wont work on the same gateway which is dumb i think because all my internet devices have the same gateway.

If you directly connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port, the IP would be the one as provided by your ISP, unlike the IP that is assigned by the WiFi router if connected to the router

Make sure that you use that IP or you may check with your ISP's support

That's the thing, I have a staic ip address on my wifi adapter and when I disconnect the wifi adapter or disable it and plug in the Ethernet cable it tells me theres an unidentified network and a yellow flag on my internet connection icon so i thought by changing from static to automatic for both ip address and dns for the Ethernet port would fix the problem but the same issue persists so i used my network trouble shooter it tells me that the Ethernet port doesn't have a valid ip address so i logged into the website for my modem to see which ip addresses are being used and the ip address i selected isn't even selected for other devices on my network

If you meant to say that the IP addresses of the other devices were different, that's normal. If they shared the same IP, there would be conflicts

If you meant something else, please let me know

I have a wifi adapter and an Ethernet port adapter im my laptop. My wifi adapter is configured for a static ip address but when i assign my Ethernet port adapter an ip address i can't get it to work i even tried setting the ip and dns to automatic for the Ethernet adapter and it doesn't work.

What im trying to do is assign my Ethernet adapter and my wifi adapter on my laptop a static ip address it doesn't matter if they both have the same static ip or a different static ip address i just want both of my adapters to have a static ip so that either adapter choice is open so i dont have to choose just one.

ok you have to ask your isp to assign a static IP and from that IP

you have to subnet IP address from the static IP

to your other device

Have you tried uninstalling the Ethernet and WIFI adapter from the device manager. If you uninstall the adapters (not the drivers) they should default to the original settings after you restart the system and should work.

Is this a recertified corporate Laptop?

Requesting a static IP from your ISP is only good for things like Hosting Websites and etc..
