Share a folder on a home network
#1
Hi all,

Is it possible to share a folder on a home network (PCs are windows 10 Pro 64bit) which has only 1 PC authorised access to it?
I know you can share a folder with access to everyone, but, Does the PC that wants access to that folder have to be a user on the sharing computer to have access only rights?

I don't want to share with everyone because if I have friends over this folder will be open to all as I have a WIFI access too, I don't want to have to set up me as a user on her PC (the wife's) (I guess if I have to, I have to)

Could it be done with a MAC only address or some other way, or am I stuck with having to set my whole account up on her PC?

Many thanks.

Just choose who you want to have access to that folder.

So the only way to share a folder with a single user is, they have to be a user on that computer, I did not want to have to log on to her computer, I was hoping there was another way.

Cheers.

Any computer, Any device on your home network. So if you have 3 computers and you only want to share files with 2 that's OK.
