Clean install of windows on new SSD

Hello everyone.
I have joined this forum because I have found and believe britec is the solution to all my computer needs as I am quite new to computers. I am curious to find relevant information I how to install a new SSD into my laptop. I have already backed up a recovery flash drive of around 32gb data of recovery. I now want to boot my new SSD with the flash drive. so I really would like help in this matter. should I attach the SSD first to my laptop with a sata/usb connection and initialize the SSD then install the new SSD into the laptop and boot it. or should I just put the SSD into the laptop and boot it hoping it will just work. my laptop is hp g6 pavilion 2268sa (2013) model 2.5ghz.

Is it a new computer with UEFI or BIOS?

• Plug in the SSD to a SATA port and plug in power. cable
• Put in Windows CD or USB
• Boot from the CD or USB (Boot order will need to be change to boot to DVD or USB
• Select the SSD as where you want to install Windows
• Install Windows.

It has a UEFI LEGACY I need to enable it. So I do not need to Initialize the SSD just take out the old HDD and put in the new SSD and follow your instructions. OK Britec I shall give this a go, I have made a recovery flash drive which contains 32GB so this F/D should do the all that stuff or something. Also as I watched one of your other videos and made a back up copy of windows 10 on a 4GB flash drive will I need that F/D of 4GB which contains windows 10 at a later point to reinstall windows 10. but Many many thanks for your help and support I shall try the first install of my new SSD then go from there.

I have another question (product key) I used produkey and it gave me two product keys one was the original OEM key and the other was windows 10 key which one should I enter.

you should enter windows 10 product key if you are installing windows 10

but you should write down the original OEM key just in case

ok thanks so I just skip that part and later use my OEM key!
