find username and password of router
#1
Hi everyone,
I'm sure others have had the same issue so here goes. When you need to replace a modem for whatever reason it would be nice to save time to be able to find the user name and password in old modem before you begin the install of new modem

So my question is are there any methods to view this info before installing new modem and save time calling IP provider when the customer can't remember his or her details ?

thanks everyone

Hi Brian,
I think you misread my question, I would like to save time when changing a modem, clients never seem to know the correct user name or password from their ISP

Example, User name: tommy@goodinternet.com
Password **********

I would like to save time waiting to get through to their ISP it can take forever

Thank you

You are talking about the user ID that connect you to the provider.
You have to login to your router or call your provider to retrieve it. it is usually under setting> internet.
I don't know any program that could retrieve it.

Hi Brian,
tried a few of the links and after I log in to my modem I'm not sure what to do next ? Router passview where / what do I do / go next ? I'm a horrible hacker

It opens my router but I can't see my user name and password ? I use File > use router web interface which opens the modem log in page after that I can't see my user name and password ?

Any pointers please

thank you
