Two Gaming console one network
#1
Hi,

I have seen and read many  got issues using 2 gaming console in one network, it is obvious ports can't be shared. But after going through many articles it has been suggested a router with UPnP can sort out the issue. I tried in a network where there is 1 ADSL router > Linksys Router> computer + PS3 + XBOX. Mostly When there is any NAT error (usually XBOX) occur or signin issue (usually PS), and after forwarding designated  port it should fix the issue and for some reason if that doesn't work then after adding one gaming console in DMZ which certainly fixes the issue for one console. (N.B. both issues doesn't occur at the same time in two consoles unless you are extremely unfortunate)
After the aforementioned set up, the issue begins that you can't use online games simultaneously on both console.
  • I tried connecting each console to each router (which is not the fix but i tried) and as expected didnt work.
  • I tried connecting both console to a router and enabled UPnP, which supposedly work but in vain.
  • I tried assigning public static ip (purchased from ISP ) to each console - in vain since the wan interface have one IP common for both.
But if you keep one console off and use another one, regardless which one it works just fine.
After going through few articles and videos and after running out of options and my wit. Certainly i can use some expert opinion.

(Thanks in advance for reading this essay Big Grin )
