Slow after 2 years heavy useage
#1
I have an HP laptop and it is slow... What are the things I should go to make it run faster? And make sure that it will not delete [history searches & remembered log in usernames and passwords fields on websites that I logged in before, because I do not remember them] I use IE, Chrome and Firefox usually. If not, how can I make a backup of the logged in user and password + history?

(I did not notice any type of popups, toolbars), but it is slower than it was before. For example when I open like more than 4 programs one of them a browser (Chrome/Firefox/IE), and when you edit document or switch between browsers or other programs it took longer than it should be.

Please make sure that (history & remembered log in usernames and passwords) will not be erased.

My HP laptop specification: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03513937

Thank you very much.

ok its slow down after 2 years it could be anything

hardware

software/malware

let's start with the hard drive

How to Test Your Hard Drive Using SeaTools for Windows

how to check your hard drive health status with crystal disk info

what are you saying google chrome is deleting your history automatically?

I would not save your password in google chrome or Firefox it's on  unsecure

if you can,t remember your password use a program like keepass or lastpass

Thanks for replying Copmton,

Before I go and check the pages you provide I want to answer your question..

No, its not deleting my passwords... I just hit (remember me) check box under username and password fields in many websites. Thanks for providing me Lastpass, I will try that as well.

Back after testing,

SeaTools says "pass" and Crystal Disk Info it says "Good". What is the next step please?

no scanning with dose will not delete your password's but it good to be on the safe side

In the upper right corner of your window, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu.
Choose Settings.
At the bottom of the page, click Show advanced settings.
Under "Passwords and forms," click Manage passwords. A dialog will appear with a list of saved passwords.
In the dialog that opens, the "Saved passwords" section shows all of your saved passwords.

you can save them in notepad

IE PassView

Hello Compton,

Sorry for the delay, you know sometimes people get busy Big Grin.

Thanks to you, I used IE PassView to export passwords. Also, (history, addons and fields autocompletion) is backed-up on Internet Explorer using a great little tool called "BackRex Internet Explorer Backup", it was really helpful  Angel. For Firefox I used mozBackup another great tool also (there is a sync option in Firefox, but mozBackup suits me best). While for chrome I used sync in its settings.

Away from all of that, I have scanned the system using the tools you provided, the results is attached.

HitmanPro result xml file: https://goo.gl/9KZsqI

Note: HitmanPro export .xml file, failed to attach it. I uploaded it to google drive, and shrink the direct download link using goo.gl url shorting service.

Thanks for help

you do have some malware on your system

re scan with Adwcleaner then scan is complete click clean

are is the system working?

I would like you to do a scan with Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10

How to record Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 to a USB device and boot a computer from it

did you setup lastpass or keepass?

No, I used none of them. I will start using RoboForm it is full and free if you use your educational email address. (I have my old university email address, it still working)

I have scanned the system, Compton. But Kaspersky Rescue Disk does not seems to detect my C Drive? There is plenty of sda things out there, up to 8 maybe... I scanned Disk Boot Sector & Hidden Startup Objects, It found nothing at all.

Also, I rescanned the system with HitmanPro, and I deleted + quarantined bad things in my system. (I activated it using 30 days free)

The system still not much fast as way back when it was young. Is there additional ways to make it run faster?

Thank you.
