ASUS Eee will not go into BIOS

I have a ASUS 1001PXD Notebook for a replacement Hard Drive, however this hard drive proves to check out OK but leaves me with another problem of the Notebook will now only start up to the American Megatrends screen and just Hangs there and will go no further.
I have tried replacing the Hard Drive with a Seagate but the Notebook does the same thing the American Megatrends and just hangs there, the screen reads as follows,

I was getting the BIOS up before I exchanged the Hard Drive.
Well never come across this before has anyone got a ideas on how to fix this.

Remove the hard and try entering the BIOS then. So power on the computer without the hard drive then immediately press f2 or f12 and see if you can enter the bios.

Thanks for the help, I have removed the hard drive, tried to go into the BIOS but to no avail, I have also remove everything i can one item at a time, but still nothing I believe it's the motherboard so not much I can do about that but get a new one.

Yeah that does not sound good. Not sure if it's worth it but you could locate the cmos battery and remove it to try and clear the cmos. At a last resort you could try to flash your bios.
