Hello:

Watching Britec's videos are very enlightening. I found out that you should use a combination of tools to clean your computer of infections. Britec always says to scan with <Insert Program Here> and then use another and another, because some scanners may not pick up certain malware.

It all depends on the reputation of the piece of software. In my professional opinion, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is the BEST at removing about 90% of your viruses and Malware. In the forums I frequent, when I see a malware posting, I see that the helper is asking the victim to use Malwarebytes at LEAST once in the cleaning cycle.

As Britec stated, it is a combination of removal tools that are used, and one thing I learned is that when you help a victim of Malware, it is important to follow their (The Helper's) instructions EXACTLY as they state, in the order which they tell you to, because if you don't do it in order, it can make it harder for the helper to assist the victim.

I say that MBAM is good for removing about 90% of malware - For that pesky 10%, you would either have to run a Fixit tool, or modify and remove Registry entries. You also may not be able to get into your computer, so you would have to use a Linux boot CD or Hiran's Boot CD, or Kaspersky - Brian has done all of this and showed people how to remove some of those pesky 10% of malware that you cannot simply run MBAM to remove.

I used a great program to stop Microsoft spying on my PC running Windows 10. I made a tutorial about it which you may find helpful if you upgrade at a later date. For the time being though, dealing with spyware on Windows 7 and 8 can be fixed easier by removing certain updates. You can read all about it here.

Hope this helps you out.
Remember! You should exercise complete CTRL and you ALT to think carefully before you DELete stuff willy nilly.
