the easy way to fix this is to use system restore to restore back the computer before the program was installed

Follow below steps to find the registry backup file:

1. Open anyone folder
2. Enter %appdata%\Wise Registry Cleaner\Backup in address bar, press Enter key
Then, you can see all registry backup files.

My take on this:

I would NOT use a Registry Cleaner on any machine I have on my network. I was always taught that (G2G Malware School - GeekU) that you should ONLY use things like this, or attempt to run these things IF the situation calls for it, because UNLESS you know what the heck you are doing, and backup things BEFORE using these things, you could bork your machine up, and may not be able to recover.

Britec is right: You need to backup your Registry BEFORE messing around with it - They say that you should run registry cleaners to make your machine(s) faster, but when I was in training at GeekU, I was always taught that if you start running this stuff when you feel like it, it just deletes the orphaned registry entries that it finds in the registry, which is GOOD if you need to remove reg entries that were not removed during an uninstall process.....

BUT: It can be BAD if the reg cleaner you use just deletes sections that it thinks you may not be using. Yes, it will make your machine faster, but only until the reg entries are restored. Also, it could bork up other programs that may be looking for these entries.

Britec has proven to ME that he knows what he is doing, and I have watched him WARN people that what you do is at your own risk: Britec knows what malware is, and he knows what he is looking for, and can see "dodgy" programs, adware, malware, ransomeware, etc because he is experienced with this stuff.

That being said: the REASON I don't mess with the Registry is because I do NOT have as much experience with the hives, branches and entries as others may have: all I can say is be careful when you start screwing with the registry!!

This is why I have a LOT of respect for ladies and gentlemen in the Malware Removal Schools - and the professionals of UNITE: They REALLY work hard, and let me tell you, they are patient as well: I heard while at GeekU that people that are in training, and have the KNOWLEGE can be dangerous: there is ALWAYS an order to things, and if you do not follow the order of things to do that a helper tells you, that it CAN and often DOES make it harder to help a victim.

Have a Great Day!

Registry Cleaners have been making websites claiming there software fixings BSOD, driver issues and other type of registry corruption. I have yet to see what good they do a part from deleting old unused registry entries.

The trouble you have with these type of software is that they remove entries from the registry that you have no idea whether your machine needs them or not. Once deleted the machine may not function correctly and could do serious damage to the registry, which could make the computer unusable or corrupt.

I would stay well clear of these type of registry cleaners, there business is claiming there software does things that are just no possible by cleaning registry.
