Getting an Error message 0X80004005
#1
When I try to to unzip a trainer program I keep getting this error message 0X80004005 unspecified error.

I have googled the error message and it gives me a very long registry fix that does not match my screen as I go step by step.

I also have run "system mechanic" and Wise 365 and neither one helps.

The error doesn't seen to affect anything else on my computer.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get rid of this error?

Thank You,

Alan

What program are you using to unzip file? if you are using Windows to unzip that file, please try 7zip

Is there any passwords on that zip file?

I am using 7 zip. I have also tried a few other unzip programs. I keep getting the same error message.

Does it have a password or encryption?

It has a password but when I run it my computer it doesn't ask for it, when I run it my laptop (where it does work) it does ask for it.

Are you familiar with the Error message "0X80004005"?

I came across this URL https://www.sevenforums.com/software/241165-error-0x80004005-while-extracting-zip-file-2.html?s=c76659e5f0d00949dfefaafe1244b06a

It turns out that the error was because of Internet Download Manager and when the user turned it off, the issue was resolved

I guess this was on Windows 7 since that forum is meant for Windows 7 users but nevertheless, see if that helps

Interesting that you mention the "Internet Download Manager" as I am also having a problem with that. When I try to delete Max Payne 3 from steam I get an error. It will not let me delete it. I downloaded it from steam again and it still will not let me fully delete it. I will look at the url you provided perhaps both problem are relayted

It seems they are related and by the way, make sure that after disabling the "Internet Download Manager", you download the trainer program again with the default downloader

I would suggest you to completely uninstall IDM

Where is the IDM? I have never heard of that before.

IDM would be 'Internet Download Manager'.

Also stay the hell away from System Mechanic and other Reg cleaning products they will destroy your system (if they haven't already).
