Using USB Stick as a HDD for Smart TV
#1
Hi All, Is it possible to convert a USB stick so that it appears as a HDD for use on a Smart TV so that it can be recorded to? On the odd occasion that I need to record more than the 2 possible on my Humax box it would be nice to be able to plug a USB stick into my TV. I am hoping to use a spare Usb3 64g Sandisk to do this but Windows is only seeing the stick as a removeable device. I know the TV will initialise the stick and apply its own format but I can't get that far.
Is there any software that will do this?
My setup is
Windows 10 32bit on Acer Aspire PC.
TV is LG 42LA690V
The TV does support recording, normally only to an HDD, but I am reluctant to go out and buy an HDD just for the odd occasion.

Hi, As in my original posting my TV is LG 42LA690V.  The Tv does allow recording and I don't think the Tv model is particularly the problem. The main thing as I see it is forcing the USB stick to appear as a HDD, which I'm not sure is possible.
Thanks
