  1. Do you know if the Hard Drive is bad or not? its very important to know before you attempt to recover data because if the drive fails before we recover data it would cost a lot of money to recover data using hardware instead of software method.
  2. Do you have another drive to store the data on once recovered?
  3. Is the computer bookable and stable? if not drive will have to be removed and used as a slave and recover data that way.
  4. Do you have data recovery software? and I don't mean recuva.
  5. Have been using the machine since you have lost the data? this is important because the more you use it the less chance of recovery.
  6. Have you done and cleaning or overwrites to the drive since data loss? this is very important because the more cleaning and overwrites the less chance of recovery.
Please try and answer all these questions and replay so I understand clearly the situation your in, so I can give you the right and best advise possible.

I also changed your post title to something to what your asking.

1.she said it was making noise
2.yes usb sticks
3.bootable but not stable and her profile when you log in is gone
4.no
5.yes she is still using the pc
6. i don't know you have to ask her for that

The more she uses the computer the less chance of any data being recovered.

Even just booting the computer it will be overwriting sectors on the hard drive. If it does something like a defrag (which Vista+ does automatically) or a CHKDSK then you'll be in an even bigger mess.

You are always best to not recover data on the drive you need to recover the data from.

Britec my mom needs her data off the pc fast can you tell which data recovery that i can use to recover the data

#7
Here is a few programs that I've used in the past.

Recuva
GetDataBack Simple Data Recovery
PhotoRec, Digital Picture and File Recovery
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free
R-Studio

If the data is REALLY that important then I would take it to a computer repair shop or a data recovery specialist.
