Compton by keeping the battery full means you are always charging it, this will shorten the life.
Here is how you preserve the life of your battery.
1. Charge battery full and use that battery until power is depleted, then recharge battery. (if not using AC Power)
2. This is not for everyone, but to preserve the life of the laptop battery, you should remove it from the laptop when using AC Power for long periods, this will stop the battery from getting hot and possible in some laptops where draining the battery a little and then recharging the battery, this also has wear and tear on the battery.
So if you are a person that mostly uses there laptop on AC Power, remove the battery, this well save the cells in the battery. Just remember to shutdown the computer or bring it out of sleep mode or standby mode before plugging in battery and remove power lead.
