Hi, I have windows 8.1 pro and I am having problems with windows. Firstly, I wanted to make windows faster so I downloaded tweaking windows repair program to optimise performance and then after a day I had errors on my hard drive. After that I allowed windows to restart my computer to repair the errors and right at the start of scanning and repairing drive C, I got the blue screen of death, error code 'Critical Service Failed'.
I then booted my installation media, clicked repair my computer and successful repaired the errors and then I restored my system before I tried to optimise windows. (Using System Restore) Then I had a problem with google chrome 'Connection not private', so I restored my system to a system image of when windows was in a good state, however, my system is slow and the indexing service is corrupted. I have discovered why the critical service failed because I couldn't install windows by booting up windows and doing a clean installation, I only could only do it from the desktop by running setup.exe.
Since my system came preinstalled with Windows 10 Home, so I should downgrade. But I have another problem. I have installed windows a couple of times and I was unsure if it would make system slow, so I posted a thread about it and was advised to create this thread. See https://briteccomputers.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=2294 for my previous thread. But I have scanned my system for malware and removed, I also used crystal disk to see my ssd's health and it is one percent healthy.
Should I downgrade and do a clean installation of windows 10? will it damage my ssd and make it slow?
Information about my system:
Manufacture: PC Specialist Gaming desktop PC
Model Number: Vanquish Elite 3 Gaming PC
SSD: See attachment
Graphics Card: Nvida Geforce GTX 970
Anything else let me know
