Windows Defrag on safe mode

i don't feel like to put schedule on and i am aware it is automatic disk defrag, i would like to know if i can defrag on safe mode with built in windows defrag?

Command line is command prompt, so run safe mode with command prompt and follow the instructions from the article

f23948 They say it is more thorough. I Don't know I never have done it. Windows does it for you. I leave well enough alone.

You can manually defrag your hard drive without safe mode, why do you need to do it in safe mode? is there a specific reason why you need to do it in safe mode?
