Drive Where Windows is Installed is Locked
#1
So you may know I've tried numerous ideas
I started with sfc/scan and tried everything got no where
I've tried bde manager an bde boot I did find out that bit locker isn't turn on
Also did chkdsk seq. An fixboot fixmbr an others  um  haven't been able to boot from USB, CD , or even my ext. backup I've  watched serveral videos on
I've learned a deal of things except for what I'm doing when in trou now shooting era for bootup I was noticing that when say when I tried to refresh that no information was distributed like install from win 10 cd or anything like or similar at 1 point seen some about missing partition I'm at a lost now as of what I'm not doing or seeing to get back in the drive oh this drive is my original drive but it also happened to my newer drive also but so you know I put my original drive backin and would like to start with this first so if anyone can help in this issue that would be awesome if you need any info
That's no problem I've tried so many different ideas I can't remember everything right this moment thanks  to all who can help (Shagg)

I was a bit lost as well. Please try to make your word clear so we can understand your issue. But I think I understand what the problem is, correct me if I am wrong. Your hard drive is not booting and you have booted up your windows 10 disc, selected repair my PC option, went into the troubleshooting section and clicked on Command Prompt. You tried the following commands: Bootrec /FixMbr,  Bootrec /FixBoot and other commands. You tried this but no success. So you booted up the windows 10 cd and followed the same process to get back into the troubleshooting screen, but you wanted to use the refresh my PC tool to see if it will solve your issue, but you got the error message " The Drive Where Windows is Installed is Locked".

If this is the case. In the troubleshooting screen, go to cmd again and type the following commands:
wmic (press enter)
diskdrive get status (then press enter again and tell us the status of your hard drive in your next reply). ( your hard drive's health)
Also try

Finally, if that does not work, go cmd, type diskpart, list disk, select disk 0, list part and tell us if there are any partitions, if not, you will have to reinstall windows.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Can you post pictures of what you are talking about? But
If i understand you correctly your telling us that you are having boot issues and you cant boot to a disc? If im correct then you need to enter the bios settings and give us a picture when you get to the bios heres a link to help you get to the bios settings https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/enter-bios-computer/
When you get into your bios we need to figure out what your boot settings are or if you want to bypass all of this you can if its hp manufacture press escape /esc on your key board you should see advanced boot options and highlight and press enter the device that you are trying to boot up.

I apologize for not responding sooner I thought I had hit notifying check box I get busy sometimes with my business an takes time for me to check on a question I may ask. I've come to like britec videos very knowledgeable an apologize for not giving explicit details cause at this point everything I've tried could fill a page or so if I remember it all . either gets to a point where  a point in a video when following along an then that's it info on that will be identical and then it's come up with something different the CMD prompt will give me a help line to assist in help but not knowing exactly where or what to do or the order it may be looking for to achieve the next process and since I'm not a master at this an I tend to figure things out but I'm one whom will ask for help when I get stumped ok I'm stumped
This is what this drive that I'm working on this moment is the original hard drive it's a 500 GB started up pc ended up with( the drive where Windows is stored is locked unlock drive to continue )I looked up on how to solve this issue and started on to repair this issue so I did what I found starting with chkdsk sfc /scan an followed the steps as discribed to fix the issue I've continued with more options as discribed so.  being this is the original drive I put off working on the issue and put in a new 1TB drive I had so just a about a month ago it came up with the same issue tried some of the same repair suggestions got no where with so I place the original back in to starting to repair this one so that I may retrieve all my information on this drive an then proceed with repairs on the new drive next with what I learnedi will post a a couple of pics of my last attempt in recovering my drive they are on my tablet
