Either. You only have a select number of character spaces when creating a username.

In the option to create a username (when you create an account) the whitespace in the field box (where you type your username) has a character limit, it may only be (for example) 10 characters allowed this could be 0-9, A-J, and any choice of symbols max 10 .

So let's say you wanted the name recdevicehelper: tech support that would be a total of 29 characters (the spaces are counted as characters, this is known as whitespace in web design), whereas tech suppo is 10 characters and will fit.

Bear in mind it may be more than 10 characters allowed but probably not much more.

I have just found out that the usernames must be between 3 and 30 characters long.
