Hi Robert,

First of all, please disable your antivirus! So Please disable computer/real time protection.

After that, when windows 10 is running, hold the shift key down and click restart on the Windows start menu. You will then be presented with the troubleshooting screen:
Please click on Troubleshooting

Then click on Advanced Options

After that click System Restore

Your PC will restart and it will say Preparing System Restore. Once the screen loads up, click on your user account, my one is RECdevicehelper in this example, yours will be different.

Type your password if you have one, if not leave the box blank and click continue

Now you will be presented with the System Restore screen. Please click next to continue

Now, highlight your appropriate restore point and click next. In this example it is called clean install, but yours will be different

Finally, click finish

And click yes and the restore process will begin.

1. Press Windows Key + R and type services.msc in Run dialog box.

2.  Look for Volume Shadow Copy and double click it.

3. Set to Manual and click start

as a rule of thumb you should always disable your antivirus when restoring from a restore point
but I have restore from a restore without disabling the antivirus

but at the end of day you should disable the antivirus
