Windows 8.1 ISO contains corrupt Windows update

OK I will trying that, but this issue is happening on a virtual machine, which tells me that it is a corrupt iso from the media creation tool, Also I downloaded windows 10 from the media creation tool and I am having no problems, so I think the windows 8 media creation tool is corrupt.

OK Clean boot didn't help. I still think has something to do with the media creation tool

1. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

See if update works and if problem is resolved.


2. Windows Update Cannot Check For Updates
This guided walk-through provides steps to fix problems when installing updates. Here are some commonly seen error codes: 0x80073712, 0x800705B4, 0x80004005, 0x8024402F, 0x80070002, 0x80070643, 0x80070003, 0x8024200B, 0x80070422, 0x80070020. These steps should help with all errors and not just the ones listed. 

3. Open the Command Prompt with administrative privileges.


Type the follow commands:


net stop bits and press enter

net stop wuauserv and press enter



Next type this command:


Del “%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat”

Type the follow commands:

net start bits and press enter


net start wuauserv and press enter


4. Reset Windows Update components?

Thank Brian I will do that, but I want to know why everytime I do a clean install using the iso from the media creation why windows update doesn't work

Update: I fixed it! Yes I figured it! YEAHHHHHHH
