Slow bios time (SSD)
#1
Hello,

I would like to address an issue that has been annoying me for quite some time now since I have migrated from a HDD to SSD.
What I am experiencing is the slow bios startup and not the boot up sequence after that.
It happens whenever I: restart the system or after I shutdown and turn it back on again.

I have considered refreshing my laptop to get this issue out of the way, but this brought another issue with it.
Ever since, I have booted my laptop out of hibernation for speed.

• Bought the windows as is.
• Upgraded any Hardware?
- HDD to SSD
• Upgraded any Software or Drivers?
- Updated regularly.
• Made any changes recently?
- Not that I know of.
• Installed any new Programs?
- No.
• How long has this been happening?
- At least 3 months ago.
• When does it happen?
- After every restart and shutdowns.
• Does it happen when you boot to Safe Mode?
- No
• What have you tried to do to fix issue? if any.
- Considered refreshing my laptop, but encountered another issue that is not related to this subject.
• Do you have screen shots of errors? No.
• Here is my system info in detail:

I have gone into bios, took a look and unfortunately the fast boot option was already enabled by default, so there must be something else slowing it down.

Just an idea that had wondered into my head while I was in bios looking around. Does the SSD boot order have anything got to do with the slowdown?

It was in this order:
1: Boot Manager
2: Something Else
3: My SSD
4: Etc....

Try resetting the BIOS settings to their defaults and check. Also, is the SSD brand new?

On a cold boot, it takes 49 secs to get to the desktop

Shows Fujitsu logo first (20 secs)
Shows black screen of nothing (27 secs)
Shows welcome screen (2 secs)
Shows desktop

I tried resetting the BIOS settings to defaults and apparently that did not work.
Yes, the SSD is brand new. Bought it quite recently in December.
