I enabled a static ip address do i need these settings or

If you're using a static ip address and you have it set to the wireless adapter but if i want to use the Ethernet port how does that work? Because when i disconnect the wifi adapter to use the Ethernet port it says unidentified network and it wont work on the same gateway which is dumb i think because all my internet devices have the same gateway.
