My wifi adapter is configured for a static ip address but when i assign my Ethernet port adapter an ip address i can't get it to work i even tried setting the ip and dns to automatic for the Ethernet adapter and it doesn't work.

What im trying to do is assign my Ethernet adapter and my wifi adapter on my laptop a static ip address it doesn't matter if they both have the same static ip or a different static ip address i just want both of my adapters to have a static ip so that either adapter choice is open so i dont have to choose just one.

I don't understand how the WiFi adapter can be assigned a static IP. The WiFi adapter is just a piece of hardware that makes a computer connect wirelessly to a WiFi local area network. That is it!

It's the computer or any other device connected to the local WiFi network, that gets assigned a private IP by the WiFi router, and the WiFi adapter is not one of those devices

Please also understand that this IP is not your public IP, which identifies your laptop on the Internet. If you want a static public IP, you have to consult your ISP's support
