Before we can help you any further we will need a little more in depth specs of your system. you can do this by going to the following site and downloading speccy at this link https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds
step 1. Once you enter the link select download thats located underneath Speccy-Portable step 2. Doing so will bring you to the following page once the page wait a few seconds for a box to display step 3. yours may display different but its the same process so select ok Step 4. once the file is downloaded select the folder on your taskbar then click on downloads step 5. once your in the download folder right click on the spsetup zip file and select extract step 6. extract the file to downloads by clicking on downloads and selecting ok step 7. once you are back in your download folder you should see the 2 files below. what needs to be done next is opening the file after determining if your system is 32bit or 64bit step 8. once speccy is open youll need to click on file located on the top left of the speccy software once the dropdown menu is displayed select publish snapshot step 9 there will be a box displayed that gives you a check box and the option to select yes or no. choose yes step 10. after doing step 9 you will displayed a box with a link which is what we need copy and pasted below

now I did go onto the TOSHIBA website must driver are compatible with the laptop
but not all of the them the CD/DVD is one of driver meaning you are using windows 10 generic driver what I think happen is that windows 10 updates break the CD/DVD driver I know you said it was working after you install the updates but windows 10 is doing some major changes to the operating system which can break things you can use system restore to restore the system before the updates to see if it will fix the problem but I think a better option would be to do a repair install that way if you did a repair install and its not working we know its driver problem for sure I would do the repair install when you are home that way you would have a stable internet connection

Navigate to Device Manager,
Select / Highlight Matshita Drive ( DVD/CD ), Select Scan For Hardware Changes. See if that removes the error. |
