Select / Highlight Matshita Drive ( DVD/CD ),

Select Scan For Hardware Changes.

See if that removes the error.

Ideally, the link Brian provided should contain all the possible fixes. Did you uninstall the driver and check after restarting the PC?

Try installing the BluRay DVD player driver from here: http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/l670/psk3ea-055017/download?os=25

Select the Win 10 version.

sorry that did work

but I might have some thing which might help
on my friends on which is sort of the same as mine
has these files on his device manger listing under dvd player

cdrom.sys which I have also listed
tdcmpst.sys which I have also
but this is not list in the device manger
but it is in the windows/system32/drivers
which is this
GEARAspiWDM.sys
if that helps you out is I am guessing that is something which is missing somewhere which needs to loaded
sorry for the delay as I was on holiday at that the time and I am very busy on Saturday as well so if I don't reply that will be the reason behind it
I like thank everybody who is trying to fix my problem

I wouldn't have thought GEARAspiWDM.sys would have anything to do with it purely because it's used by iTunes and therefore should have no affect on the BD drive.

You may have to try Compton's suggestion of a repair install.

Before you do that though try uninstalling the drive and then shutting down the computer and physically removing the drive, then re-seating it and allow Windows to assign a driver to it or installing the Win 10 BD driver I posted earlier.

I would like you to change the drive letter of your DVD player and  check. If the issue persists, replace the existing data cable of the optical drive with a new one and check

hi guiltyspark
well it looks like o will have to use a old backup and get it work that way as I done what you said about the drive and I removed the drivers from the hard drive which is for the blu ray and shut down the laptop and physically removed the drive started it up when finished I shut it down and put back blu ray drive which I works as it worked on my friends machine and I still got the same result sorry to say

I am still trying to think what else I can do as my friends one gives me the same result so it has to be software issue as it sees a fault in the device manger

Try downloading this Linux live disc (unfinished but not important) and creating a bootable USB.

Boot into it (it is not installable) and see if it picks up the BD drive, if it does then you know there is an issue with Win10.
