Does my computer support windows 7
#1
I have a dell dimension 5150 and I'm looking to see if I could upgrade to windows 7 home premium? If I can would I need 32bit or 64bit and will the integrated graphics card support the aero visuals in windows 7 home premium?

I definitely will because your PC meets the requirements as specified at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10737/windows-7-system-requirements

It is. Below is a screenshot of what the instruction manual of the computer states about the memory modules.

2GB RAM not uncommon for Vista to be shipped with the basics. In terms of x86 or 64bit, that would all depend on your CPU.

It's also not uncommon for Vista machines to be running both a x86 and 64bit capable processor.

The easiest way to find out would be (assuming you still have an OS to boot into) download and run Securable

So as long as the ram is ddr2 and match then I'm good to go?

That is correct.

I just need to match the ddr2 part and that's it?

I just want to be sure I understand you guys correctly is all.

Just make sure that it is an unbuffered and a non-ECC memory because that's what your memory slots support. Usually, personal computers support unbuffered memories

Buffered memories are usually used in servers.

Ok, Everything else seems compatible but only thing that is going to stop you, is driver support Sad

It seems Dell doesn't have any drivers for Windows 7 with that perticular model:

There are ways around it. You could use Snappy Driver Installer to install any missing drivers that you encouter but keep in mind they will be genetic since there are no offical drivers.
