Those white connectors are Molex connectors not ide, they are pretty common.

#13
Yeah the white rectangle that has 4 pins on the inside which powers an ide optical drive or hard drive.

I don't see any error lights on the computer its self and no I haven't tried to install without the WiFi adapter but yes to all other question in the list guilty spark

The molex connector is plugged into an ide to sata to power the sata hard drive

#14
Hard to see from those images but it looks like Molex to sata.

#15
Yeah it is. Its a strange setup that's for sure lol

#16
No that's actually quite normal.

Is your HDD completely blanked or is there an OS already on it?

What version of Vista is it? Sp1, sp2 slipstreamed etc?

At what point during the install are you getting the error message?

Windows xp media center was on it but I used active killdisk pro and used the 3 pass method.

After the wiping process is when I installed windows vista and then got the error. But now vista is on the hard drive well kinda

There's the following:

Copying files
Expanding files
Installing features
Installing updates
Completing installation

I got to the part after the completing install was finished then the computer restarted and the popped up saying that there was an error

I would reinstall windows vista without wifi adopter and the added 1gig ram sticks
