Windows storage problem
#1
I have all my Movies, music and picture stored in my F: drive. But System Volume Information folder took extra 22GB space of F: drive. Will it create any problem if I remove it? And how can I remove it?

do you have a system image on the F drive?

no compton...and then why it is hidden and not accessible? I can not even see this folder without this software.. even attrib -s -h -a *.* /s /d cmd didn't unhide this folder.

Some info on System Volume Information; https://www.howtogeek.com/282214/what-is-the-system-volume-information-folder-and-can-i-delete-it/

thanks spark.. but don't you think it is too much. after all it is not a system drive. I have got some useless files like movies and music in it. my E: drive's system volume folder is only 153 kb.

These are all your System Restore points. To delete, turn off system restore and turn it back on and the create a new system restore point. This will free up space.
(Warning you will lose all your old system restore points by doing this)

Acording to the how to geek article, you can't delete the file as it contains important files which the system needs. I suggest you stay away from it.

yaah.. I don't tamper with any sys files but this big? It took 22 gb of my small drive. and sys restore point was turned off in the first place..

I understand, let see if we can get some disk space back:

Run CCleaner: https://www.piriform.com/products

Do not use the registry cleaner inside CCleaner

Also have a look at this Microsoft article on how to free up space:
