Hp Envy x360 M6 no keyboard or mouse after Creators update
#1
I have an HP Envy x360 m6 laptop. Model m6-aq105dx
Was working fine, did the creators update and now keyboard and touchpad don't work. External USB kb/m work fine. Things I have tried:
System restore - doesn't see any point
Restore to previous version - doesnt work
Un-install/re-install / update drivers from HP website.
Turn off "Fast Startup"
WSUS offline installed all available Windows updates
Unchecked "Allow this device to turn PC on" in device manager power mgmt options for both devices.

I finally got fed up and did a format / reload with the newest Win 10 build from media creation tool. Keyboard and mouse work for every part of install/setup. All the way until I hit the actual Windows desktop.

Perform SFC scan

Click 'Start' > Type cmd in the search field > Right-click the command prompt at the top of the list and select 'Run as Administrator'
Inside the command prompt, type sfc /scannow > Press 'Enter'
4. Reboot and test.

Tried an sfc, no luck. Also currently its on a fresh installation of Win 10.

How does Device Manager look? Any Yellow !

Try uninstalling the keyboard/TP drivers and rebooting.

Perhaps installing the drivers from the manufacturer website.

Tried that. Was listed in my initial post. :-p Device manager shows everything is "A-OK"

So I just did another wipe and re-load but didn't connect to a wifi network during setup. Keyboard and mouse work in Windows, BUT within minutes of connecting to wifi it starts pulling in drivers and kicks the keyboard. So it must have to do with that!

#7
open Device manager

select on keyboard

select on the driver select uninstall

restart your system check to see if it will work

Ah missed that...

I see you have posted this on other forums. Cross posting is not allowed btw

Guilty Spark may be onto something as the OP points out on another forum.

Cross posting is not allowed on this forum, it just wastes our time and other people's time on other forums.
