Unable to boot from USB
#11
This is going to sound nuts but try using a usb port on the other side of the laptop. I have had situations where the computer would not boot to usb when connected to a usb port that is on a daughter board. Try just for kicks.

how to write a ISO to a USB drive with image USB

Have attempted with "imageUSB".
The creation process went smoothly but ... Windows does not recognize the USB stick !!
"The drive in station G: must be formatted before you can use it"

Executed on different USB sticks

See Attachment

I forgot to say that when I build the Kaspersky RD using RUFUS the message:
"ISOHybride image detected" appears.

The downloaded ISO file was not corrupted (did a QuickHash control)

Yes Timster, I tried every USB port (2.0 & 3.0) on the system even with different USB brands and disk capacity !!

Norton Bootable Rescue Tool

Because "Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 from USB Flash Drive" boot fails at the moment, I downloaded "Norton Bootable Rescue Tool" and gave this a try but it also refuses to boot !!

I also attached the rufus logfile

I recorded a video to show my BIOS settings when the USB stick is bootable.
When I select "Hard Disk Drive Priority" under the "Boot Options" tab, you will see that the bootable USB stick is displayed as "2nd Boot Device."
If I then restart after exiting the BIOS and press F12 then the USB flash drive will appear as a choice in the boot menu.

This does not happen with the Kaspersky and Norten USB drive build !!

  1. Select the right boot order for the device.
  2. Turn off secure boot
  3. Enable Legacy Boot Support
  4. In the BIOS menu > Boot Mode set mode to Legacy and it will boot

Thanks Britec,

I'll give it a try ..

Enabling Legacy Boot as suggested by Britec has solved the problem.
Norton stops running due to an unknown error !! But that's an other issue.

Once again, thank you all guys for the great support here on this forum.
