Thanks folks,
I have solved the problem regarding Windows 7, I created another partition in ntfs and everything loaded up fine. Windows recognised a usb was plugged in {Ubuntu didn't do anything}.But Windows blocked the keyboard being installed said it was faulty. Still have problem that all the keys not working but hopefully will have a replacement usb keyboard soon. Been to Dell and they don't make a keyboard for this model anymore.
Thanks
