I see what you're referring to now. Is your motherboard a newish one or old?

The old ones require a molex connector instead of a Sata power cable.

The one in your pic is a Sata interface cable the drive will still require power.

Does it look like your HDD will support those cables (it should).

Motherboard will be a ASUS A88XM-A i'm doing my first gaming pc

in that you will be using a Sata cable because the motherboard only have sata ports on them
which means you will being using a sata hard drive would not stress too much on the cable

yes it will not matter also when buy a motherboard it will come with sata cables
