I think what he or she is looking for is good Wifi range to cover the whole house.

That's why I asked about the devices. If most can be wired then the option of a Home Plug would give the speeds needed.

My devices:
3 laptops (2 in my room); 1 in living room
4 smartphones
3 tablets
1 Printer (wired)

I have one laptop that's wired. I don't have a preference when it comes to wired or wifi preference. I just want my entire house to be covered as previously mentioned. My signal isn't that great due to my house being so big with so many walls and devices connected lol....(if that makes sense)

Update:

So I wanted to try something as a "quick fix", I went and got the same router as I do now to see if that other one was going bad...turns out this new router (same model, ....please don't chew me out, I know I should've gotten a new model and all......but I got it at a cheap rate lol) is doing the same thing as before, cutting in and out lol...

My question now is.....Is it truly the router or is it other things? ....(Other wifi spots in the neighborhood and my devices). Probably both tho

I'm still going to be buying a newer more improved router in the future of course...these things take time!!

ok like britec said sound like you need good wifi coverage

aldo to GS point you can use Homeplug Powerline Kit this would give wired speed in rooms that you need it

but let's deal with one thing at a time that would be getting a router then we can work from there

yes I would its your router it not getting job done don't worry we will not chew you out its ok

sounds like both your router and your internet plan you have lots devices just for 30 mbps down

Lots of things can cause poor wifi coverage, types of walls, microwaves, high powered lamps, neighbours wifi, cell phone towers etc.

This site gives some insight into problems https://packetworks.net/blog/common-causes-of-wifi-interference

Remember all homes will have a black spot so be sure your router is in a place where you're going to get the best coverage and make sure the router is connected to the Master Socket --- https://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/40812/~/what-type-of-master-socket-have-i-got%3F just to give some idea.

Update

Sorry for the delay guys

I've been running a few tests and well....what I've noticed is that, it doesn't matter how many devices I have connected, the router still cuts off at random times of the day. Not sure if it's possible, but it seems like someone hacked it lol.... I'm still trying a few things out. If anything changes I will update you...

Hey all!

Been a minute and some since my last post but I wanted to update you guys real quick on things

So after my last reply, I went to my ISP and upgraded my router to their modem combo...which is a router and modem in one (duh!). The setup was easy to say the least and I've had it for almost a month now.

Strange thing is....I am STILL experiencing issues but no where near as bad as my other router. The modem will disconnect then quickly reconnect within seconds, which doesn't really interfere with my work.

I still have the same number of devices connected as well.

What do you guys think?

Thanks again for the info?
