So I tried alternating the keyboard/mouse and different keyboards, no joy.
Its a brand new HP Pavilion Desktop

Computer A was win7 64bit IDE
Computer B is SATA win7 64bit

This sounds like the USB Driver hasn't been added to Acronis Universal Restore CD which would explain why your mouse and keyboard are not working.

I would try macrium like Larry suggested because I use that software all the time and it automatically adds the drivers to the boot disk, same as rescue CD

Thanks for the help. Moving an hd from one build to another is always a bad idea, unless u have zero choice and plenty of time.
This project didn't work and I hope I don't have this situation again..

As I mentioned, bad experience with "Acronis" in the past and now I have hit a deadline, so case closed.

Whats the default settings of the bios? If your system says ahci is the default then select defaults and after its saved restart the computer and see what happens.
