Laptop Error sending End of Post Message to ME, System HALT

Just make sure that the laptop is only connected to the bootable Linux hard drive when you  boot it up, to avoid any possible interference

If it boots normally, we could safely rule out any hardware issues but if the issue persists, probably it's due to a faulty hardware

Sorry but I have never done that before, is there a video tutorial you know of to follow these steps?

First of all,  you would need to make a bootable USB drive. I am assuming  that you have a USB  stick with more than 4 gigs of  space and a computer that works ( you  could do this on your computer)

Now in the video below, you would need to follow pretty much all the steps discussed in the same sequence till 7:32...

the only difference would be to make use of a tool called "Rufus" instead of "Universal USB Installer" and download Peppermint instead of Bodhi

Please refer to https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,4350.0.html for the steps  to make the USB disk bootable with RUFUS

Let me know once you've made the USB stick bootable or if you are stuck somewhere. We will proceed to the next step after this

Or if you wish, you can simply use Universal USB installer and install Bodhi as mentioned in that video, to make things simpler

ok what I think is causing the problem bios can't recognize ssd's hard drive

if you put a normal hard drive into the laptop will it show up in the bios

also what I would do is to install windows onto a normal hard drive then check to see how fast the computer will boot

I think you misunderstood me, reset the BIOS you have done, flashing the BIOS is different. This is right a new updated BIOS or overwriting the BIOS with the same version.

Your BIOS is version 5.30

They have a new one available

29/11/2016 BIOS Update Toshiba OS independent 5.40-WIN World Wide

Place your serial number in the box and do a search for BIOS Updates

Yeah, I did do that Britec, well I tried to anyway. The laptop needed to restart to finish the update to the bios but every time it would restart it would come up with one of the two messages again so it would never finish, then I tried to do it via USB but the laptop would never boot from the USB no matter how many times I tried. It's obvious to me now that its a hardware issue, not software so a new laptop will be bought instead.

I'd like to thank everyone for their kind advice and help throughout this thread.
