After contacting several parties and going through countless and unresolved options, it has come down to 2 options, (1) send the pc back to asus and have them reset it or (2) send to store where i bought it from, bestbuy and have tech dept fiddle with it. Option 1 seems to be less costly - i was given a quote from asus of cost.. I tried going to one of those smaller repair shops, but they seemed to charge more for thier services...thinking big chain stores might have a less costlier edge. Iam not willing to purchase a recovery disk online, due to distrust sending personal info. As for having someone download iso onto flash? Noone is willing to do that...possibly citing fears of virus or other off the wall excuse
