Windows 10 stuck on black load screen after instal?

Hi,

I have upgraded a computer from win 7 pro to win 10 using the media creation tool and it was working fine until it got to this part, its stuck on a black loading screen? it was doing updates before this? any advice? I don't want to restart the computer in case it brakes.

I've now tried restarting it, it went to attempt to recover and now its back to the black screen with spinning dots?

After unplugging everything but the monitor I switched it back on and now getting a restoring your previous version of windows?

Is it possible your machines hardware doesn't meet the requirements?

Is it possible you interrupted the process, it can take time.

I have found that in most cases Windows 10 upgrade assistant and/or install media will check for hardware compatibility and halt the install process if it fails to meet criteria.

Ajaay27 have you verified your hard drive is in good condition?

in the future, i would check Windows 10 upgrade assistant first before upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10
