2600K for still good for Gaming?
#1
Jason, I watch that video. I must say that the performance is massive on the new chip when it comes to photo and video editing and other CPU intensive tasks but if its only gaming your worried about then stick with the 2600K.

People always want the latest and greatest but they have not released any PC games in years that really need that amount of grunt. 2600K and Tims 2700K is still and good chip. Even the old AMD processor play all the games.

Yeah I was quite surprised after watching that video. I don't have the time to game as much as I have in the past but it is nice to know my 2700k is still holding it's own. I do render videos fairly regular however so I could use a boost there but in the end it gets the job done.

Pretty crazy for a CPU which came out in 2011. I would have to spend around £750-800 just to get the basics to upgrade to the 8700k.

The only stressful thing I use the computer for is gaming, currently playing a bit of playerunknowns battlesgrounds.
