Just to add... The easiest way to rectify this is to boot into safe mode then uninstall Malwarebytes then re-install with latest version. This may prove a bit more difficult with machines with UEFI bios's running Windows 8.1 or 10. A few of my customers are reporting complete system crashing/freezing as resources are pegged at 100% every time they boot up. Malwarebytes really screwed up on this one...Right at the weekend. Lots of sysadmins are earning their money this weekend.

I would agree with you Tim it's a mixed bag on some system Malwarebytes would update and after reboot, it would be fixed

on some system, it would completely freeze the system with the only option being uninstalling Malwarebytes and reinstalling

I would take it step further and uninstall using revo
