Upgrading a laptop or buying a new laptop?

my old Toshiba which I have been told numerous times can't be upgraded in terms of RAM.  Is this entirely true or are there any upgrades that can be done with this old bit of kit?  I was thinking about selling it or even finding a use for it and sadly I can't.

Any hints out there?

You will need to find the make of that motherboard and what chipset its using and it will tell you whats CPU is compatible with that motherboard the number is NBWAE LA-5831P.

If you want my personal opinion its to old. Its ddr2 and you won't be able to run i3, i5 or i7.

Hope this helps you out.

Yes, you're right of course and it was a forlorn hope that I could do something with the old thing! Thanks for the advice. I will use it as a testbed from now on.
